El Salvador Las Duanas
Variety: Pacamara
Process: Anaerobic Natural
Cup Profile: Mango / Panela / Prunes
We present Las Duanas, one of El Salvador’s standout coffees, grown at an elevation of approximately ~1910 meters above sea level on the slopes of the country’s highest mountain peaks.
Finca Las Duanas is managed by Enrique Mena and his family, who transformed the land from multi-crop agriculture into a dedicated specialty-coffee project.
This lot undergoes an experimental Natural Anaerobic process: ripe Pacamara cherries are carefully handpicked, fermented in sealed oxygen-free tanks, then dried slowly on raised African beds. This method enhances deep sweetness, builds fruity complexity, and preserves an exceptionally clean cup profile.
In the cup, expect tropical fruit sweetness, floral notes, berry layers, and a bright balanced acidity.
Las Duanas earned 2nd place in the El Salvador Cup of Excellence 2025 – Experimental Category, scoring 89.55, standing out as a coffee defined by innovation, passion, and a deep respect for nature.
